Feedback Loops Optimization

Feedback is crucial to a product lifetime. It is also part of our lives that makes us a better person. A feedback is at its basic forms is reaction to an action. That reaction is then analyzed and a new action is taken. A new reaction will form and the cycle continue.

According to Smashing Magazine, there are four areas for improvement based on feedback:

  1. Speed
  2. Measureability
  3. Context
  4. Connection to Motivations

Naturally speed is the easiest to improve, Measureability relates to comparison with other products, Context answers the question “What does it mean ?” while motivations are related to purposes of the product.

Plus two things to keep in mind:

  1. Measure your success
  2. Be ethical

Those two things are natural, metrics are always something that we can count on. It is also the default measurement of just about anything. Ethical relates to good intention and methods used during the feedback and improvements method.
